Three Ages Project Laura Johnson, Violet Willis, Sara Jane Anderson, Olivia Afshari, Casey Ridpath
Lauras Research Cognitive: Ice cream, gatorade, and offensive It s an emotional feeling when you have a lot of excitement. Laughing is being happy and getting a good ab workout Questions: Cognitive: What are three things that make you, you? Physical: Broccoli, twizzlers, and Brussel sprouts. Because they taste good. Apples because he learned in health that they make you feel full and they are healthy. I guess orange juice because you get that vitamin C, um, carrots because they are good for eyesight, and salad because lettuce. Gotta get those greens. Physical: What do you think are foods that are good for you? Why? Social: Why is it important to have friends? CF- Male, 6 years old Social: So you re not bored because you can die from boredness Because those are the people you can talk to and trust. You can always talk to someone and just not be alone. JF- Male, 12 years old CLF- Female, 17 years old
Physical: outside, because you need to exercise and stuff. Outside, it s important to get fresh air and exercise Outside, fresh air and and exercise are important to a healthy lifestyle. Cognitive: you like someone you probably get married. You have a really strong connection and you relate in a lot of ways. Love is always caring for someone and respecting their opinions/beliefs even if they differ from your own. Putting their needs before yours and making sure that you re always there for them. Social:Kingston, we play this really cool game together. Miriam and Bridget because we relate ina lot of way and we connect; we like the same things. Violet, she s such a nice oerson and she always listens without judging me and she s always there for me whenever I need Violet s Research Questions: Physical: Is it better to go outside and play or sit on the couch and watch TV? Why? Cognitive: What does love mean to you? Social: Who is your best friend and why? 3-6: Reuben 7-12: Clara 13-20: Katie
Sara Janes Research Answers: Cognitive:I love my mom and dad, because they protect me. Love is when you care for someone deeply and love spending time with them. Sharing your ice cream even though you don t want to, the first time i saw my boyfriend, josh, putting someone else s needs before your own. Questions: Cognitive: What does the word love mean to you? Physical: Fruit and veggies. I don t like to eat them, but my mom says they are good for you. Vegetables and fruit, because they are healthy and nutritious.Strawberries, gluten free pretzels, blueberries, special k. Eating these things make you feel good. Physical: What foods are good for you, and why is it important to eat them? Social: Whois your best friend? Why? 3-6: Makayla Social: My best friend is Sophie, because we play princesses together. A girl in my grade is my best friend because we understand each other and bond over a lot of things. Sara Jane is my best friend. We can be ourselves around each other and not have to worry about being judged. 7-12: Claire 13-20: Elana
Olivias Research Answers: Cognitive: When you re glad, happy, and smile. Questions: Feeling good and laughing Cognitive: What is happiness? Being content with the state of your life. Physical:How much do you weigh? Physical: uh Mommy how much do I weigh?...uh 12? Social:Have you ever been bullied or bullied someone? 110lb. 3-6 145lbs. 7-12 Social: hmm no. 13-19 Never. Yes, I have bullied someone before.
Answers: Cognitive: You need someone to share with Because you need someone to do things with it s not, you re the only person you re going to have the rest of your life, it s better to be yourself than try and seek the approval of other people Casey s Research Questions: Cognitive: Why is it important to have friends? Physical: Milk Pizza because it has all the food groups Fruits, Vegetables, Good Carbs, Good Fats Physical: What types of food are good for you? Social: Why is it important to share? Recommendations for Future research -younger generations and anti-bullying solutions -consistent, clear, and precise interview questions -different population groupings; limit variables -multiple people in each age group -for Camryn in particular,increased social development, therapy ?
