The area being Livingston. Make a note of these and where you would get the foods from? 3. Create a questionnaire of what foods young people like to eat that include rice.

  5. Examples 1. - - - - Examples of street food are: Rice dishes Noodle dishes Burgers Hot dogs These are just examples from the internet, you may have found more. Foods that are produced or grown locally to Livingston are different meats from farms and food grown in allotments around the West Lothian area such as fruits and vegetables. 3. Your questionnaire should include what is their favourite food? What rice dishes do they like? What is easy and quick to eat on the move?

  6. Another Task You need to create a power point based on where rice comes from? It is important to know where some of your ingredients come from before you decide what you are going to make. Your powerpoint must include the following: - Where does rice come from? - How is it processed? - Why it is important to the economy? - What is the health benefit of eating rice?

  7. IMPORTANT Your dish that you create must include 50% rice or more. The rice you can chose from is the following: - Tilda basmati and wild rice - Jasmine rice - Arborio rice - Brown basmati rice - Brown n white rice - Pure basmati

  8. Using your Imagination You need to create your own rice based street food dish. Remember to look at the brief & your research. Please do not copy a recipe from the internet, but you can adapt one that is already there if you are struggling. Street food is eaten on the move, so remember this when designing your own recipe Use the recipe template to do this. You can work on your own or in groups if you wish.

  9. Marketing my dish You need to think how you would sell your new creation to people. Would it be through an advert? Would it be through a poster advertising your creation? Would it be through a leaflet? Choose ONE of these methods and create your own marketing campaign for your dish. Remember to make it colourful and it must include the dishes name and price of the dish in the marketing campaign.

  10. How much does it cost to make your dish? You need to visit a supermarket website for this task: - Asda - Tesco - Morrisons Look up the ingredients in your recipe and how much they each cost to buy from a supermarket. Take note of this and total it up at the end.
