  2. Tip #1 Do your research! Find out what resources are available on the campus you are applying to

  3. Tip #2: Every admission process is different Every graduate school has a different admissions process. Read instructions! Make sure you know who the graduate program contact is

  4. Tip #3: Connect with campus resources Connect with the campus Veteran s Resource Center or Veteran s Resource staff member

  5. Tip #4: Highlight your experiences Transferable skills

  6. Transcripts Graduate schools will require your transcripts Unofficial transcripts: Do not have the registrar s signature or college seal. Often free or low-cost. Official transcripts: Complete representation of a student s academic record. Printed on official transcript paper. It will have the embossed or raised college seal, date, and the Registrar s signature.

  7. Letter of Recommendation Find the right recommender (commanding officer, volunteer work, supervisor, coworker, etc.) who can speak to your skills regardless of their rank or title.

  8. Statement of Purpose Tells the admission committee who you are, why you re applying, and why you re a good candidate Poor academic history? Opportunity to explain situation Admission committee members are not mind readers. Put it in writing!
