Learning Goals By the end of the training today, participants will understand why it is important to make accessibility resources available to all students, where to find important information about accessibility resources, and how to check and test accessibility resources using the practice and training tests or interim assessments. 6 6
From Classroom to Assessment Resources assigned for assessment should reflect the resources the student is already using in instruction. Students can be distracted by new resources that they do not need during testing. 9 9
Accessibility Resources Types Universal tools: Available to all students by default Designated supports: Available to any student at educator request Accommodations: Available to students with an individualized education program (IEP) or Section 504 plan 10 10

The Accessibility Matrix The California Assessment Accessibility Resources Matrix contains all universal tools, designated supports, and accommodations for CAASPP and the ELPAC. 12 12

Assigning Test Settings LEA coordinators or site coordinators generally handle the assignment of resources, also called test settings, in the Test Operations Management System. Educators can request or suggest designated supports for any student. Special education staff can specify accommodations and more. TAs and TEs can temporarily set accessibility resources for the practice and training tests and the interim assessments. 18 18
