Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 prohibits sex-based discrimination in education programs or activities that receive federal financial assistance. The law ensures equal access and opportunity for all individuals, regardless of gender, and prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex. It mandates that educational institutions create and maintain a safe and nondiscriminatory environment for all participants. The policy is overseen by designated coordinators who handle reports and complaints related to Title IX Sexual Misconduct, ensuring that investigations are conducted promptly and thoroughly to address any violations and patterns of discrimination.
