Cost Implications The National School of Government is not a consultancy firm but a strategic partner in capacity building and skills development It is not a profit making organisation but a public service department mandated to train and to cause training to happen and through training needs analyses, the NSG causes and stimulate relevant training for the department As a strategic partner in capacity building and skills development, the National School of Government carries out the entire training needs analyses at no costs
Utility and Value Add Training needs analysis provides scientific determination of the needs of training that are required to support growth and development strategy of the provinces. It is a formidable pillar supporting the implementation of the human resources development strategy for the departments. It provides an effective template for the implementation of work place skills regime in collaboration with departments at all levels. Training needs analysis strengthens training and development mandate(s) of the involved departments It can serve as a vehicle for the implementation of integrated workplace learning and development It supports recognition of prior learning and is an effective tool for capacity building and development It justifies personal development plans of employees within the spectrum of performance management system
