No relationship works right when we relate to others as a victim (even if we are a Christian)

VICTIM Belief: My life is so unfair. Poor me Dynamic: It s not my fault Benefits: Rescuers & no responsibility Price: Live at the mercy of others Stuck is: I feel powerless & useless.
VILLIAN (PERSECUTOR) Belief: No one right or as good as me Dynamic: It s your fault Benefits: Feel in control & superior Price: Isolated & weary. Control freak Stuck is: No trust and no closeness
HERO (RESCUER) Belief: I can fix it for you Dynamic: It s my responsibility Benefits: People need me Price: Weary & eventual failure Stuck is: Burdened and frustrated
Playing the victim or treating people as a victim (as hero or villain) never makes relationships better. It just feeds drama, fear & pain.
