  5. Target Market and Opportunity What is the Total Available Market (TAM)? TAM is the total market demand for a product or service. What is the Service Available Market market (SAM)? SAM is the segment of TAM targeted by your products and services within your present geographical reach. What is the Serviceable Obtainable Market (SOM)? SOM is the portion of SAM that you capture or can credibly capture.

  6. Our Solution Please specify your specific solution and include any notable innovation, technical or otherwise, that provides credibility to your solution.

  7. Revenue Model or Business Model Description of product(s)/services Ownership Development stage Unique attributes and opportunities How will your product or service make money? How does your pricing fit into the larger market. How does it undercut existing solutions in the market?

  8. Traction and Validation Do you already have sales or early adopters using your product (Traction)? What proof do you have that your solution works for customers or potential customers and will generate demand? What is your specific plan for further demonstrating traction and validation and what are the timelines for completion?

  9. Marketing and Sales Strategy How will you market and sell your product? Who are your customers? Your first customers? Who will be your biggest or most valuable customers? Sales/distribution plan What partnerships are necessary for marketing and sales and what is the status of those partnerships?

  10. Management Team Who is on your team? Experience of all senior management, including previous start-ups Previous experience working together Needs/key vacancies. Do you have all the key people necessary to execute on your goals? Board of Directors Adviser(s) In other words, convince us that this is the right team that can execute and succeed.
