MCE Grant Goals 1.Review and Update - We wanted to review and update our evaluation process and programs in place 2. Create Equivalencies - Minimum of 2 course equivalencies per branch of service 3. Fast-Track for Veterans and Service Members - Create an accelerated path for the veterans and service member students. #SMCS20 @NASPAtweets

Breakthrough Without the Council of College and Military Educators (CCME) Conference in Austin Texas, this would not have been possible. - Provided information that was critical in the formation of our goals - Explained why there were closed doors in many avenues - Gave us the direction to go in to reach our goals #SMCS20 @NASPAtweets
What weve accomplished so far: - Credit Guide - Help to guide people through transcripts - ACE Based MOS and JST to course equivalencies 608 - ACE Based course-to-course equivalencies - 347 - 60 branch specific degree pathways #SMCS20 @NASPAtweets

So how did we translate military training and experience into college credit? We had three key resources to accomplish our goals: 1. The American Council on Education Military Guide 2. Hired a grant coordinator that was a veteran 3. Credit evaluation was done in the Registrar s Office #SMCS20 @NASPAtweets

How to use the ACE Military Guide-Course Search online Go to the ACE Military Guide - Click on the Course Search button - Enter the ACE ID Number or the - Military Course Number or - Search for the course using the All Services drop-down box - Select the branch of military you are evaluating - Enter the Year in the Year You Took the Course box - Click the Search Button #SMCS20 @NASPAtweets
What gets returned is a list of classes If you click on one of the classes you will get a course exhibit with the following information: - Course Exhibit - ACE ID Number - Exhibit Dates - Title - Learning Outcomes - Course Number - Instruction - Location - Credit Recommendation - Length #SMCS20 @NASPAtweets
How to use the ACE Military GuideOccupation Search online Go to the ACE Military Guide - Click on the Occupation Search button - Enter the ACE ID Number or the - Occupation or - Search for the occupation using the All Occupations drop- - Select the branch of military you are evaluating - Enter the Year in the Year You Took the Course box - Click the Search Button down box #SMCS20 @NASPAtweets
What gets returned is a list of occupations If you click on one of the occupations you will get an occupation exhibit with the following information: - MOS Identifier - Credit Recommendations - Job Title - Lower-Level Learning Outcomes - Skill level - Upper-Level Learning Outcomes - Summary #SMCS20 @NASPAtweets
So what did we do with this information? We created degree pathways and posted them on our military website page to show veterans and active duty military how we award college credit for military training and experience. #SMCS20 @NASPAtweets
