SUMMARY OF THE LESSON Each mode of transport in the transport sector has got agencies that work for the government and with the government to regulate and control each industry of the transport sector to effect the acts and the policies of the government to ensure the smooth running of the transport sector to meet macro economic objectives and socio- economic objectives of the government. These objectives of the government shall be met by having all agencies employed by the government coming up with programmes to address and combat any form of transport transgression that threatens prosperity and growth of the economy of South Africa by means of the transport sector as the catalyst for economic development.
