Separate role of SRAD & DAAD Strategic Research & Analysis Data and Analytics Economic appraisal (including Public Spending Code, Mega Projects, Common Appraisal Framework). Strategic Research: NIFTI; SRAD Commitments in Climate Action Plan and SMP; Other research needs in the Department. International Transport Forum (ITF) Liaison. To provide data or analytical support to business units across the Department data for evidenced informed policy To drive value from the data holdings of the Department and its agencies Ensure the Department and its agencies make their appropriate contribution to Ireland s National Data Infrastructure (NDI) Working with the DPO, enable the Department to meet all data governance requirements when sharing data to deliver business needs Analysis of statistical data and related publications. 3 An Roinn Iompair | Department of Transport
So far NVDF Other Data Requirements At one end requiring open data (from CSO) to be visualised in dashboard form .. Items for discussion Key Data Gaps The future of travel surveys Data to derive metrics for the reporting of CAP objectives and SMP policy monitoring Key to this is regional transport volumes by mode An end-game is a national Mobility dataspace Where to start the use-case led approach taken by the Dutch? First defining the problem and desired insight (the use-case) and then identifying the relevant datapoints to help unlock that insight Key value will be gained by linking data this will require common attribute (location?) and very good metadata and standardisation Mobile app to facilitate travel diaries?
