  1. IAEA Transport Safety Standards (TRANSSC) 48thMeeting 18-22 November 2024 Agenda Item 1.7, Status of Actions arising from the 48thTRANSSC Meeting Shazia Fayyaz, Scientific Secretary of TRANSSC

  2. Agenda Item # 48-1.8 Issue: The Secretariat to: -review the TRANSSC Agenda Item Submission Form to enhance the user-friendliness, to adapt for informative items. -set up processes and timeliness for uploading the forms before the TRANSSC meetings. -resubmit for approval at TRANSSC 49, considering feedback received. Action Taken/Resolution: Revised form uploaded as Item 6.1 for TRANSSC 49

  3. Agenda Item # 48-2.4 Issue: NSOC and TRANSSC Secretariat to check the latest membership list and provide access to NSS-OUI to full members as per policy. Action Taken/Resolution: Access to NSS-OUI provided to full members who have nucleus accounts by NSOC. [Nucleus accounts for two members could not be identified.]

  4. Agenda Item # 48-3.1 Issue: The Secretariat to proceed to STEP 8 (submission to Member States for comments) of DS546 Ageing Management and Maintenance of Packages for the Transport of Radioactive Material. Action Taken/Resolution: Done

  5. Agenda Item # 48-5.1 Issue: Member States to provide response to the questionnaire on Potential Effects of Fires Originating from Battery or Hydrogen Vehicle Technologies on the Safe Transport of Packages for Radioactive Material uploaded to TRANSSC website to the Secretariat by Aug 15. The discussion on the topic to be held during TRANSSC 49. Action Taken/Resolution: Presentation with Member State input will be presented as Item 3.1 at TRANSSC 49

  6. Agenda Item # 48-5.2 Issue: Member States to provide their regulatory experience on drones, driverless vehicles and EVs used for the transport of dangerous goods, including radioactive material, during TRANSSC 49. Action Taken/Resolution: No requests from Member States have been received. Item 3.2 is a placeholder for this info on TRANSSC 49 Agenda

  7. Agenda Item # 48-5.4b Issue: Member States to provide their feedback on the Country Presentation Template for the Review Committee to the Secretariat by Aug 15. Action Taken/Resolution: No requests from Member States have been received.

  8. Agenda Item # 48-8.1 Issue: Secretariat to upload presentation with hyperlinks to documents to TRANSSC48 folder. Action Taken/Resolution: Presentation with hyperlinks uploaded to TRANSSC 48 folder on 22 July 2024 [Item 8.1].

  9. Agenda Item # 48-NRT4.4 Issue: TRANSSC supports establishing a new joint Working Group, separate from the current joint RASSC/TRANSSC Working Group on A1/A2 values, to discuss and follow-up on issues raised during the joint NSGC-RASSC-TRANSSC session, specifically related to the justification and impact of the introduction of the new A1/A2 values, with involvement of other relevant committees, by the next meeting of the Review Committees. TRANSSC Secretariat to liaise with RASSC Secretariat to communicate TRANSSC decision and exchange on the way forward. Action Taken/Resolution: After discussions between the RASSC and TRANSSC Secretariats, it was mutually agreed that, before deciding on the establishment of a new joint Working Group that a justification paper , which outlines the issues to be considered in deciding whether the incorporation of the corrected A1/A2values into SSR-6 (Rev. 2) is justified, would be prepared and submitted to the Review Committees to aid them in their deliberations on this matter at their next respective meetings.
