The analysis shows an increase in newly diagnosed acute kidney injury (AKI) rates from 80 to 242 per 1,000 patient-years between 2007 and 2022. The rise post-2019 may be linked to COVID-19 infections among Veterans. Data from the National VA highlights trends by diagnosis code, age groups, gender, race, and diabetes status. Visual data representations provide insights into AKI patterns over time.
