Trends in Prevalence of CKD among U.S. Adults 2017-2020
The crude prevalence of chronic kidney disease (CKD) among U.S. adults aged 18 years increased from 12.9% in 2001-2004 to 13.9% in 2017-2020. Prevalence was higher in adults aged 70 years, women, non-Hispanic Black adults, and those with diabetes or hypertension. CKD prevalence showed a downward trend among adults with diabetes but remained constant among those with hypertension. Non-Hispanic Black adults had the highest crude prevalence of CKD. Data source: NHANES.
