  4. 1. Anwers to questions E&T 39 of IMO/CCC concerning freight container The current version posted on the TRANSSC50 meeting website was commented by the IAEA secretariat. The comments were discussed and approved by TTEG-OM. The topic will be presented Thursday (agenda item T4.1 ii)

  5. 2. Transition of TTEG-OM to ad hoc TRANSSC working groups An agreement was reached on the structure for presentations to be made under Agenda Item T3.2, to be delivered by the TTEG Chair. The format will include the following points: 1. Overview of the current TTEG work and the rationale for its transition into an ad-hoc WG 2. Description of the proposed ad-hoc group, including its title and purpose 3. Justification for the group's importance, including the relevance of the topic, priority of the work, and required expertise. It was noted that the proposed activities fall within the committee s mandate and do not constitute scientific or research work requiring separate validation mechanisms. 4. Members positions on the proposal 5. Expected outcomes and a proposed timeline for deliverables

  6. TTEG-OM Term Plan 1. Clarification in some issues in Maritime transport of radioactive material, including residual work from Freight container WG: To draft the answer to the questions from E&T39 of IMO/CCC: draft answer TRANSSC 50 for approval To identify the items to be clarified in maritime transport, including defined deck area : joint work with TTEG-C: to be started 2. Clarification of exclusive use especially as related to sea transport: partially solved for air transport but some questions remain for maritime transport (to do) 3. Development of guidance on transport of SCO-III, joint Work with TTEG-PPA: this topic could be addressed in a new ad hoc TRANSSC working group 4. Transport by drones and driverless vehicles - common issue for dangerous goods, collect and share the information: continue to follow any developments in particular ICAO research and requirements 5. Sharing of issues in operations on transport of RAM, including denial of shipment: long term discussions not suitable for ad hoc working groups (currently covered by TTEG-OM). This discussions could lead to the need of ad hoc TRANSSC working groups.

  7. New TRANSSC ad hoc working group: Development of guidance on transport of SCO-III Rationale: - transport SCO-III is new in SSR-6 - First transport of SCO-III has been authorised by a few European member states (multilateral approval) - request from several member states about the practical implementation of the new SSR-6 requirements based on the experience gained by member states Product: TRANSSC Guidance document (potential input for future revision of SSG-26) Conclusion: Ad hoc working group seems suitable: - the topic is specific and well-defined topic - the expected duration is short

  8. Feedback TTEG-OM to the transition process The purpose and process not completely clear. Potentially high number of WG s compared to the limited number of TTEG s: increased administrative burden and repeated effort in establishing each WG. Challenge to keep consistency and keeping overview among the WG s and the products. Ad hoc WG s are not suitable to facilitate long term discussions and exchange on certain topics and new developments.
