  2. What are verbs? What are verbs? Verbs are words that are used to talk about actions or states of nouns or subjects used in the sentences.

  3. How many types of verbs are there? How many types of verbs are there? There are THREE types of verbs : (1) Action Verbs ( Transitive & Intransitive Verbs ) , (2) Dynamic and Stative Verbs and (3) Linking Verbs.

  4. 1. Action Verbs 1. Action Verbs (A) Transitive Verbs: They have a definite object on which , or for which the action is being performed, for example: Jack is painting his room walls. He gave them some money. ( S + V + O ) (B) Intransitive Verbs : They also show action but here there is no specific object on which the action is being done, such as: Jack is playing right now. She is sneezing repeatedly. ( S + V )

  5. 2. Dynamic & Stative Verbs 2. Dynamic & Stative Verbs (A) Dynamic Verbs are used to denote an actual action or or expression or process done by the subject, for example: Alice buys new clothes every season. The children are swimming in the pool. (B) Stative Verbs are used to tell us about the state of mind of the subject, or the relation between the subject and the object., such as : He prefers strawberry jam. The walls require a new color.

Linking Verbs Linking verbs are words that are used to connect the subject to a noun or adjective that help in describing or providing additional information about the subject, for example: Tom is fussy about food. I am tired. They are stubborn students. We were students. They felt relieved. She becomes healthy. He grows older. Fish taste good. .. THANK YOU FOR WATCHING
