USG Exchange Programs Public Affairs Section administers a broad range of educational exchange programs sponsored by the U.S. Department of State Undergraduate and graduate students, professionals, secondary educators, faculty, scholars, educational institutions can apply. Participants are selected through a merit-based open competition. Applications are submitted online. Each program has a deadline. Most programs have three stages of selection: Application review, interview, tests. The U.S. Government grants cover all costs, including local/international travel, visa, and living costs in the United States.

Fulbright Foreign Student Program One or two years of graduate study leading to a Master s degree Applicants must have completed undergraduate education and hold a bachelor s degree by September Applicants should show evidence of high motivation, serious commitment, leadership potential, and give back to home country upon return Application deadline: June
Hubert H. Humphrey Program For young and mid-career professionals to get ten months of non- degree graduate study and related practical professional experience Applicants must have completed undergraduate education and have five years of full-time professional experience Applicants should demonstrate leadership qualities, a record of public service, be resourceful and display initiative Application deadline: June
Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program Up to one year of advanced research for accomplished scholars Applicants must have doctoral degree or equivalent professional qualification (at least 15 years work experience at the time of application) Applicants should demonstrate the intrinsic value of the project to the scholar, his/her home institution, country and U.S. institution. Opportunities to host American Fulbright Programs Fulbright Specialist Program Fulbright U.S. Student and U.S. Scholar Programs For U.S. academics, professionals and students to teach or pursue study/research projects at Uzbek higher education institutions for up to one academic year For Uzbekistan educational institutions to host a leading U.S. academic or established professional to work on collaborative projects ranging from 2 to 6 weeks in length Institutions interested in hosting a Fulbright Specialist must apply through the U.S. Embassy During their grants, American Fulbrighters will meet, work with, live with and learn from the people of Uzbekistan, sharing daily experiences
English Language Instructors Fulbright English Teaching Assistants (ETAs) English Language Fellows (ELFs) Program places instructors in classrooms on 10-month assignments to assist local English teachers. ETAs help teach English language while serving as cultural ambassadors for the United States. American TESOL professionals on 10-month fellowships at educational institutions Projects include teaching, teacher training, and materials development English Language Specialist (ELSs) Highly experienced American TESOL professionals who conduct short-term programs (2 weeks to 5 months) Projects include teacher training workshops, national conferences, and curriculum development
