STUDY ABROAD PROGRAMME (DS-3001): AN OVERVIEW Known as SAP, no more SEP Students will be enrolled for : One semester (either semester 1 or semester 2) Academic undertaking at selected universities Transfer of modular Credit and will NOT be counted towards your cGPA
STUDY ABROAD PROGRAMME (DS-3001): ELIGIBILITY Students with CGPA from 3.00 and above University Selection Guides - USA: cGPA > 4.0 - UK: cGPA 3.8 to 3.99 (with Good English proficiency) - Australia/New Zealand: cGPA 3.5 to 3.79 East Asian universities: cGPA 3.3 to 3.5 (China/Japan/Korea/Taiwan) ASEAN universities: cGPA 3.0 to 3.29 Language proficiency requirements
UBDSBE DY PROGRAMME: FUNDING Co-Funding: UBD only provides 1 semester funding (Cycle 1 or Cycle 2). Combine one-off allowance (Travel allowance + Airfare Ticket). Student would be given cash-in-hand to buy own ticket (once placement is confirmed); Students need top-up own their own if price of ticket exceed allowance; No reimbursement given.

UBD FUNDING: FAQS Fees are not waived for self-funding (either Asia or Non-Asia; Partner or Non- Partner Uni/Agencies) For self-funding, are tuition or relevant fees waived for partner uni/agencies? I have a cGPA > 3.8, do I still need to pay tuition and/or any fees when self-funding? Yes, fees still need to be paid by students. Yes. You need to indicate in your DY registration form online in which semester you want to be funded by UBD. Can I select in which semester I want to be funded by UBD?
UBD FUNDING: FAQS Any forms that I need to complete to choose for the funded semester? For e.g., if you want to be funded in Sem 2 rather than Sem 1, then you don t need to fill any DYU form in Sem 1. Write formal letter to DYU & GR office. If a non-partner uni./agency willing to accept student without any fees, are the students eligible for co-funding? Yes, students are eligible for co-funding but only for 1 semester. For self-funding, how much I need to pay? Go to respective uni. Websites and check for the tuition and other relevant fees.

STUDY ABROAD PROGRAMME (DS-3001): IMPORTANT NOTE Your guarantee you a place in the chosen university. It's all based on the selection process in the receiving university. application form does not DO NOT buy air ticket before you receive your offer letter.

STUDY ABROAD PROGRAMME (DS-3001): DELAYS IN APPLICATION Usually the delay in processing students applications are due to: (a) incomplete application forms; and (b) students didn't submit AUN ACTS online applications (for applications to AUN Universities)
STUDY ABROAD PROGRAMME (DS-3001): FAQS Can I Change my nominated DY placement Country/Activity? Yes, provided there are valid reasons. Submit the appeal form to the DY Coordinator and/or UBDSBE Office not later than 1week after the published nomination.
THINGS TO DO AFTER NOMINATION Prepare your documents - recommendation letters, check your passport expirary dates, certified transcripts, enrollement letters, bank accounts (some university requires bank statement, eg Korea - a balance of US$6,500 and above in your, certified bank account) Create a dropbox to put all the information required and please send the link when requested English proficiency letter - UBDSBE AR Financial support letter - DYU
IMPORTANT POINTS There is a Quota from host universities - so do not demand placement- it is not your entitlement Final selection is done by Global Affairs Office based on student's qualification and quota from both the host universities and among UBD faculties Insurance is a must - buy it to cover yourself when you're overseas Medical healthcheck is important some uni require it Do you visa only when you have the acceptance letter from the host university
IMPORTANT POINTS Go to DYU when you have the offer letter (they will ask for the university calender to check the host uni semesters - for ticketing matters as well) Do you OSHE form - Mr. Chen Chin Kang/AR/DYC signs the form, - and this is returned to DYU If you have your own funding, indicate your willingness to pay inorder to go to certain countries/universities. This will be considered Indicate this in online DY application later on
SAP (DS-3001): FAQS WHAT TO DO AFTER I RECEIVED MY OFFER LETTER? Please do the checklist below: Medical Check up VISA (Make sure you have the VDR form along with the offer) Allowance Clearance Purchase Air Tickets Airport Transfer Arrangement (if provided by the Host University) Accommodation Arrangement Complete UBDSBE SAP Module Approval Form (SMF) OSHE Forms
UBDSBE SAP MODULES APPROVAL FORM (SMF) SMF must be completed by students themselves. Form must be signed and approved both by respective Programme Leader (PL) and DY/SAP Coordinator. Discuss with your PL the modules you wanted to take Generally, dont take modules offered in UBDSBE; take modules are useful for your major and not found in UBD Sports modules are NOT allowed for your SAP. Form is downloadable from UBDSBE DY website.
