  1. UIL CALCULATOR TEST: 80 PROBLEMS IN 30 MINUTES

  2. WHAT KIND OF QUESTIONS? Number cruncher - Calculations (involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, roots, and powers) Simple geometric problems Stated problems (word problems) similar to those found in recently adopted textbooks

  3. WHAT KIND OF CALCULATOR? Students may use any silent, hand-held calculator that does not require auxiliary electric power. CMS students will be using the TI-Nspire that we have in classrooms. The calculator data and program memory should be cleared prior to the contest; students may not use pre-recorded programs during the contest.

  4. HOW WILL YOUR SCORE BE CALCULATED? +5 for each correct answer -4 for each incorrect, skipped or illegible answer Only problems through the last completed or attempted problem will be graded (so once you have stopped answering questions in the test, the blank ones that follow will neither hurt nor help you)
