UNC Charlotte Demonstration Activity Resource Team (DART): Promoting Campus Safety and Free Speech
The Demonstration Activity Resource Team (DART) at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte is a campus initiative coordinated by the Division of Student Affairs to respond to planned and unplanned demonstration events. Led by the Dean of Students, DART aims to ensure a safe environment, support free speech rights, and minimize disruptions on campus. The team collaborates with cross-divisional staff volunteers, including the DART Deputies, to address a range of events such as protests, vigils, demonstrations, and high-profile programs. Additionally, the DART Coordination Team plays a key role in managing and coordinating resources for effective event response.
