  1. FRIDAY 8THJULY 2020 WALT: WRITE AN ALTERNATIVE ENDING TO THE STORY I CAN WRITE AN ENDING TO A STORY I CAN USE DRAMATIC SENTENCE OPENERS

  2. ALTERNATIVE ENDING At the end of the story Kong escapes and captures Ann. Then climbs up the empire state building with Ann in his had but is killed by army planes. What could happened instead: Does Kong not die? Does he escape and hide somewhere? Maybe he runs away to somewhere secluded and hides there? Or could Ann die with him? You change to ending to Jack someone how kills Kong and save Ann. Or Kong kill Carl Denham for revenge.

  3. TYPES OF ENDING There are different types of ending you can use for your story. A Conclusive ending when you conclude what the final ending is. But is it a happy or a sad conclusive ending you want to write? A cliff-hanger ending, like in a film do you want to leave the story open for the reader to wonder what happens? Remember that doesn t mean just stop writing you need to give the reader some clues to what might happen. A reflective ending, this is where one of the character looks back and reflects on what has happened.

  4. TASK Your task is to write an alternative ending to the King Kong story. You can use any type of ending you want. Just make sure your ending flows and make sense with the rest of the story. You also can not change any of the characters. Be creative and use as many different literacy devices to keep the reader engaged. There is a model on the next page to help you.

  5. MODEL In an explosion of anger Kong breaks himself free from the chains and runs off into the city. Terrified for her life Ann seeks refuge on the top floor of grand hotel with Jack. It is okay Ann, he will never find us here. Jack said comfortingly, whilst holding Ann s hand. Suddenly, there was a roar, and terror stricken Ann and Jack saw Kong looking through the window. He must have climbed up the side of the building. With his gigantic hand he reaches in and grabs Ann. As quick as a flash, Kong flees up the biggest building in New York (the Empire State Building). The army are called to deal with Kong and they send planes to attack. Get those Camera s rolling! Carl Denham ordered. On ground below, Carl Denham had caught up with Kong and brought his camera crew to film the events unfolding. Who needs cinema, when you can film this real life action. This will be the greatest film the world as ever seen! Mr Denham proclaimed. Kong had noticed that it was Carl Denham below, suddenly rage had filled his eyes. He carefully put Ann down safely on a balcony and looks at her with a sad smile. A plane comes hurtling towards him firing its guns. With elegance and precision Kong grabs the plane out of the air and hurtles it towards Carl Denham

  6. SENTENCE STARTERS Suddenly, I couldn t believe my eyes, In conclusion, Without warning, Out of the blue,
