  1. BoardReader By: Brent Jeffrey

  2. The History of BoardReader BoardReader was developed in May 2000. It was developed by engineers and students of Michigan. Originally made to search discussion boards for certain topics online.

  3. What Is It Good For? Its good for looking up reviews and messages about specific topics. It s a good source to find feedback about anything. It can find reviews and discussions on any platform or article!

  4. What Does It Look Like? It s as plain as this design on this presentation but with less green. It only has the title and the search bar that s it! It s literally less colorful then google with only red in its name. The red is to show that it s used for finding only messaging boards.

  5. Advanced Options? BoardReader has many advanced features! It can change relevance of articles and posts. You can change the domain to strictly one thing.

  6. Does It Have Boolean Functions? It has a Boolean function like most other search engines. Boolean function helps limit searches with AND, OR, and NOT, which BoardReader uses to minimizes results.

  7. Dating Preferencesand Not The Hookup Kind It has relevant search option It has limit of 2 days ago to 2 years ago. It can readjust your searches in either oldest to new or newest to old.

  8. Limiting Your Search Results can be limited either by changing the domain or zones. BoardReader has a way to change domains from .edu and to .gov. It however does not have a function to change the zones.

  9. Does It Have Search Requests? BoardReader can search with keywords and hierarchical searches. You can search with a simple keyword like Math. Or you can search with a category.

  10. Is It Updated Enough? BoardReader has spellcheck but it doesn t automatically change the word. It doesn t show a in progress but loads up results in seconds. It doesn t have a suggestion prompt if you misspell the word.

  11. Is It Easy to Read? The format of the articles are a little hard to read what you want. Results come up in question format most of the time. Keywords that you search come up in Messaging titles.

  12. How Does It Fair With Main Topics? It has a 1 to hundred thousand result list. You can change the results in one page from 10 to 150. Math results were 170, 362. Science has a 322,607 result. Technology has a 327,661 result. Medicine has a 327,661 result.

  13. How Does It Fair With Subtopics? You can categorize topics into subtopics in advanced search. The subtopics in the search are much smaller then other search engines. Has a 1 to hundred thousand result as well. Calculus has a 11,405 result. Global Warming has a 67,689 result. Ipad has a 135,024 result. And carcinoma has a 3,107

  14. Would Recommend to Use For Yourself. Its easy to use for what it does. I recommend anyone who has a paper to write on any topic, to use BoardReader for reviews and feedback. It s a nice website to find any quick answer. The results are smaller then other search engines.

  15. Conclusion to a Bitter End. BoardReader has a plain style to it. It has some simple advanced features that makes things easier to find. For being created by college students it works for what it does. All in all it is pretty good for being used for what it was made for to find reviews.
