Reasons for increase to student fee: Indoor Facility Building Manager Indoor Facility Maintenance and upkeep costs Sport operating budgets have not been increased in 5 years Support area budgets have been cut in the past few years, need to be restored in order to continue to thrive as a successful DI Athletic department. Largest number of student athletes we have ever had. 500 and student athlete population is growing we need resources to support those student athletes to grow not decline which is what is happening due to university budget constraints. Necessary to continue the upward trajectory of SBU Athletics This will allow us to be more on par with our competitors athletic fees. Even with this increase we are still much lower than the average America East and Colonial Athletic Association Football school averages In 1718 we did not increase the fee at all. The average increase per year is 3%. In 1819 we had a 2% increase. We need to make up for the 3% we missed in 1718, the 1% in 1819, and the annual 3% in 1920. This is how we calculated the 7% increase.
