Let Us Run With Endurance The Race That Is Set Before Us OLD TESTAMENT NEW TESTAMENT Founded on the BLOOD of bulls and goats. Founded on the BLOOD of Christ. Men who had sin themselves, were mediators of the Old Covenant. Humanity for the High Priest. Christ the sinless Son of God, is the Christian's Mediator. Christ the Son of God is our High Priest. Imperfect Covenant. Better Covenant built on Better Promises. It is perfect. Moses the giver of the Old Law, God the author. Christ the giver of the New Covenant, God the author. In II John 9 we are told to abide in the doctrine of Christ. The doctrine of Christ excludes such practices of the Old Law as (1) Animal Sacrifices, (2) the burning of incense, (3) going up to Jerusalem to worship, (4) circumcision as a sign of our covenant relationship with God, (5) keeping the Sabbath as a day of worship and (6) keeping feast days and new moons. 7/5/2025 8
Let Us Run With Endurance The Race That Is Set Before Us PURPOSE OF THE OLD TESTAMENT If we did not have the Old Testament we would not know how the worlds came to exist, the origin of man, the beginning of sin or why good and evil exist in the world. But in Romans 15:4 we find this recorded for us, "For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope." There are many examples in the Old Testament, both good and evil, that are warnings to us. They show us the attitude of God toward sin. All through the Old Testament the writers point in various ways to the coming of Christ and His Kingdom/ Church. 7/5/2025 9

Let Us Run With Endurance The Race That Is Set Before Us PURPOSE OF THE NEW TESTAMENT The purpose of the entire New Testament is to produce faith in Christ as the Son of God, to teach us how to become Christians, and to show us how to live so that we will be saved eternally. The New Testament is also divided into four major sections. It also shows us that the Kingdom/Church has been established as was foretold by prophets of old. 7/5/2025 11
