Learning Objectives This training will help you and your agency: Understand the purpose and importance of the DSP Compensation Survey Know what data is needed to complete the survey Prepare your data using the optional Excel workbook Enter responses into the web-based survey platform Know where to turn for help

  3. New This Year We are entering into our 5th and most exciting year of DSP compensation data collection! We will be gathering a full year of compensation/employment outcome data following the large 1/1/24 service rate increase (and subsequent 7/1/24 rate increase). Last year, we asked agencies to provide a rough estimate of 2024 starting and regular wage increases without providing total compensation estimates we will now be able to reconcile these estimates with a complete year of compensation data. New Survey Feature: Ability to review/edit responses without needing to restart the survey. Annual Optional Addendum Topic: Staff training and use of technology.

  4. Survey Purpose Advocacy Accountability Data is used to educate policymakers and community members on DSP workforce needs. To ensure proper use of public funding, agencies demonstrate how Medicaid reimbursement is used to support the direct care workforce.

Inclusionary/Exclusionary Criteria Inclusionary Exclusionary Provider agencies who billed for any HPC or any adult day array service in calendar year 2024 (i.e., adult day, vocational habilitation, employment supports, career planning) Independent providers ICFs New providers who did not bill in 2024 Any services funded through non-DODD waivers Owners, administrators, clinicians (e.g., nurses) of a higher pay grade. Data for DSPs who provide direct care services for at least 50% of their worked hours.

  8. Data Collection Cycle June 25 April 15 December C Report Released Survey Window Opens Survey Due Announces will be made in Memo Monday regarding the release of the annual report. Search for DSP Compensation Survey on our website to locate. Your agency s unique survey link will be sent to the DOO, billing, and office email addresses that are on file with DODD s provider certification team. Please review and update your email addresses on file!

Fringe Benefits Select dropdown options to indicate what fringe benefits are offered to DSPs. N/A Data from Employee Data sheet is used to calculate total number of FT/PT employees, turnover and length of employment. 4. Tenure Counts Number of vacant full-time and part-time positions on 12/31/24. 5. Training & Technology Brief survey on types of trainings and technology offered. N/A

  11. Excel Workbook: Tab 1 Employee Data, DSP Counts and Turnover Calculations Enter data on DSPs who: A. Spend 50% of their hours or more providing HPC or any day/employment service B. Worked for any duration in CY2024-exclude employees hired on or after 1/1/25 Columns C, D, E, are drop downs Enter MM/DD/YYYY employment start (Column F) and end dates (Column G) Employees still employed still need to enter an employment end date of 12/31/2024 for Excel to calculate length of employment as of 12/31/2024 Excel will autogenerate months of employment (Column H) and employment length category (Column I)

Excel Workbook: Tab 1 Employee Data, Hours and Gross Pay Per DSP Four types of hours to report (If applicable to your agency): Regular (Column J) Overtime (Column K) Training (Column L-remember not to double count these hours from regular hours) Paid time off (Column M) Column N will auto-calculate total hours per DSP Five types of gross pay categories to report (If applicable to your agency): For columns O-S, this is NOT hourly wages, but annual totals (the example above assumes $18/hour pay rate) OT wages should be 1.5x regular rate (Column P) Bonuses (Column S) can include the total monetary value of signing bonuses, longevity bonuses, performance bonuses, profit-sharing, hazard pay, holiday pay, shift differential (above usual rate). Column T will auto-calculate annual gross pay/wages per DSP

Excel Workbook: Tab 2 CY24 Compensation Totals Annual Agency totals from Tab 1: Employee Data will generate here Average hourly wages and hours are calculated to help assess data accuracy within the expected ranges Boxes are labeled with question numbers that correspond with data entry in the online survey For example, $100,080 annual regular wages will be entered into 5A into the survey

  14. Excel Workbook: Tab 3 Fringe Benefits Indicate if your agency offers the specific fringe benefit to DSPs and if they are offered to all or some DSPs based on criteria defined by your agency Every row has a drop-down response option. Offers to All or Some DSPs Does Not Offer to DSPs

  19. Section 2: CY24 Total DSP Compensation ADS/HPC Providers: Agencies will not be required or able to separate business by service category. You will combine ADS and HPC hours and wages together.
