  20. The The Seventy Seventy- -Week Prophecy Prophecy Week

  21. Seventy Weeks Background During the Fifth Dispensation, and the fall of the Southern Kingdom of Judah, God reveals the plan for the remainder of human history. During the Babylonian exile, the Angel Gabriel appears to Daniel and reveals to him the unfolding plan of God for humanity. The historical background: 1) Law, 2) Sin, 3) Battle, 4) Exile, 5) Prophetic Vision Plan, and 6) Execution.

  22. Seventy Weeks The Law God gave Israel a commandment to provide a Sabbath Rest to the Land. Leviticus 25:4 > But in the seventh year shall be a Sabbath of rest unto the land, a Sabbath for the Lord: thou shalt neither sow thy field, nor prune thy vineyard. The Sin Israel failed to obey this commandment and for 490 years the fields were continuously sown.

  23. Seventy Weeks The Battle Jeremiah 37:6 10 6 Then came the word of the LORD unto the prophet Jeremiah, saying, 7 Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel; Thus shall ye say to the king of Judah, that sent you unto me to enquire of me; Behold, Pharaoh s army, which is come forth to help you, shall return to Egypt into their own land. 8 And the Chaldeans shall come again, and fight against this city, and take it, and burn it with fire. 9 Thus saith the LORD; Deceive not yourselves , saying, The Chaldeans shall surely depart from us: for they shall not depart. 10 For though ye had smitten the whole army of the Chaldeans that fight against you, and there remained but wounded men among them, yet should they rise up every man in his tent, and burn this city with fire.

  24. Seventy Weeks The Exile Therefore, when the Southern Kingdom was taken into captivity by the Babylonians, God used their exile as a way of giving rest to the land. In Babylon, Daniel seeks God to understand the length of time of their captivity. The angel Gabriel appears to Daniel and gives him a message of Seventy Weeks.

  25. Seventy Weeks Prophetic Vision Plan Using the Babylonians, God begins removing Israel from the Promise Land starting in 606 BC. Now in Babylon, Daniel prays to God for the sins of Israel. While praying, the angle Gabriel appears and touches Daniel (v21). Gabriel informs Daniel that seventy years are determined upon the people of Israel (v24).

  26. Seventy Weeks Daniel 9:20 23 20 > While I was speaking, and was praying and confessing my sin 21 > The man Gabriel whom I had seen before in a vision, came to me in swift flight at the time of the evening sacrifice. 22 > O Daniel, I am now come forth to give thee skill and understanding. 23 > At the beginning of your supplications, I am come to show you and to consider the vision.

  27. Seventy Weeks Prophetic Vision Plan Daniel 9:24 24 > Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. 70 x 7 = 490 Years

  28. Seventy Weeks From the time that the word went out to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until Jerusalem is finished there shall be seven weeks. For sixty-two weeks, Jerusalem shall be built again (streets and walls) but, in a troubled time. The Time of Jacob s Trouble Tribulation begins when the Antichrist confirm a covenant with Israel for one week. After 42 months (midway), he shall make a sacrifice: an abomination (idol) that desolates. After sixty-two weeks, Messiah shall be cut off and shall have nothing. 7 weeks (49 years) 62 weeks (434 years) 3 1/2 years 3 1/2 years CHURCH AGE 451 BC 402 BC 32 AD 69 weeks 483 years Great Tribulation Tribulation

  29. Seventy Weeks Prophetic Vision Plan 7 WEEKS From the time that the word went out to restore and rebuild Jerusalem (451 BC) until Jerusalem is finished there shall be seven weeks > 49 YEARS. 62 WEEKS For sixty-two weeks it shall be built again, but in a troubled time. After the sixty-two weeks, an anointed one (Messiah) shall be cut off (AD 32) and shall have nothing, and the troops of the prince (Romans) who is to come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary (AD 70). Its end shall come with a flood, and to the end there shall be war. Desolations are decreed > 434 YEARS.

  30. Seventy Weeks Prophetic Vision Plan 1 WEEK He (Anti-Christ) shall make a strong covenant with many for one week, and for half of the week (42 months) he shall make sacrifice and offerings shall cease; and in their place shall be an abomination (idol) that desolates, until the decreed end is poured out upon the desolator > 7 YEARS. This is the tribulation period and midway through, the Antichrist will broke the covenant with an abomination of desolation or an idol sacrifice.

  31. The Six The Six- -Fold Purpose of the Purpose of the Seventy Weeks Seventy Weeks Fold

  32. Seventy Weeks 1 To Finish The Transgression These six events are for the Jews and the Holy City Jerusalem. Gentiles and the Church are not included in this judgment. The Messiah (Christ) was cut off (crucified) Daniel 9:26 > Shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself. To make an end of sin Heb 10:12 > But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God.

  33. Seventy Weeks 1 To Finish The Transgression To make reconciliation for iniquity Rom 5:6-10 > For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. To bring to an end, to remove, Israel s disobedience and transgression. Note: The Jewish transgressions will not be finished until they, as a nation, repent and return to God.

  34. Seventy Weeks 2 To Make An End of Sin To seal up, lock up, or bring Israel s sin to full restraint. To restrain sin at Christ s second coming Rom 11:26-27 > And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Zion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: 27For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.

  35. Seventy Weeks 3 To Make Reconciliation for Iniquity To fully cover Israel s iniquity and sin so that none can be found Jer 50:20 > The iniquity of Israel shall be sought for, and there shall be none. In one day, the Jews will repent and be converted: born again Isa 66:8 > Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? Jews who accept Christ during the Church Age will be in the Body of Christ where there is neither Jew nor Gentile (Gal 3:26-28 > There is neither Jew nor Greek.

  36. Seventy Weeks 4 To Bring In Everlasting Righteousness This will be accomplished by an inward moral transformation when the law of God will be written upon their hearts Jer 31:33 > I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts. At the beginning of the Millennial, Christ will seal up the sins of Israel and establish a newcovenant with them = Jer 31:34 > For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

  37. Seventy Weeks 5 To Seal Up the Vision and Prophecy To bring to a conclusion by their fulfillment all the prophecies of this Book. Prophets and visions are concealed from the Jews until the time of the Gentiles is complete Romans 11:25 > That blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles be come in.

  38. Seventy Weeks 6 To Anoint The Most Holy The Most Holy is a place, and not Christ. To consecrate again the Holy of Holies after the abomination of desolation by the antichrist in the last days. The Most Holy that left the Temple will return to the Millennial Temple Ezek 11:23 > Then the glory of the LORD departed from off the threshold of the house, and stood over the cherubims.
