FAA SMS FAA Personnel may evaluate aviation organizations based on checklists in the Data Collection Tool (DCTs) checklists on the Dynamic Regulatory System (DRS). Note: Operators used to access the DCTs through the old FSIMS website, which has been decommissioned. 2
FSIMS - DRS 1. Go to: https://drs.faa.gov/browse 2. From left menu expand Safety Assurance System (SAS) 3. Select SAS FS Data Collection Tool (DCT) 4. In the filter box go to the field labeled System/Custom DCT 5. Select Safety Management System (SMS) Custom Data Collection Tool (C DCT) 6. Select Apply - you should see 30 results 3
FAA SMS There are 15 OP and 15 AW checklists each set of 15 is nearly identical to the other 15 These four (4) DCT checklists are foundational to the other 11 so start with these: 1. Safety Policy Design Validation 8 questions 2. Safety Risk Management Design Validation 13 questions 3. Safety Assurance Design Validation 13 questions 4. Safety Promotion Design validation 7 questions 4

Design Validation versus Design Demonstration b. Not noticing that there is a second page (there are 30 total and only 25 per page) c. Not verifying regularly on the DRS website to see if they have been updated 6
