Giving taught 2 things: Giving taught 2 things: A. God created and owned everything B. Generosity = closeness to God
Giving / Growing Process Giving / Growing Process 1. Tithes and first born - Submission 2. Votive offerings - Sacrifice 3. Most holy vow - Surrender
There was a limit to closeness because there was a limit to giving.
The ability to be wholly devoted to God only became possible with the coming of Christ.
Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. - Romans 12:1
Today God wants all all of you! of you!
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. - Romans 5:8
3 Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? 4a Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, - Romans 6:3-4a
4b so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life. 5 For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection, - Romans 6:4b-5
The on-going presentation of ourselves as wholly devoted sacrifices to God each and every day forever.
