God Created the World Chapter 2 God created everything good and with a purpose for us is to know, love, serve Him in this life, and to be happy forever with Him in heaven. God also created us with free will to choose to follow His plan or not.
God is the Creator of all things and everything He created is good. Story of Creation (Genesis 1-2)
Create vs. Make Create To make something out of nothing Only God can do this. What are some things God has created? Make To make something from something else People can make things. What are some things we make with God s creation?
Activity: Let s act out the story of creation!
Talk about it What is your favorite created thing? How did God create it for good?
What is our purpose? How did God Create us for good? God has a plan for all of us! God gives us a free will to know, love, and serve Him. Know- use our minds well Love- use our hearts well Serve- use our bodies well
Free will= We can choose Choosing good Choosing evil (sin) Turning away from God Sin; freely choosing to do something we know is wrong Example: Lying to parents about breaking the iPad Can sometimes seem good (Like eating a lot of candy: tastes good but can make us sick) Following God s plan Choosing something good with good circumstances Example: Donating food to the Food Pantry when we have food to give. Not always easy
God desires that all of us go to Heaven. Our choices in this life have consequences. We choose heaven or hell by the way we live. Hell means suffering and being separated from God forever. It is so awful, we would never wish for out worst enemy to go there. In heaven, we will be with God forever, and we will be perfectly happy. Let s pray and thank God for creating us and giving us the opportunity to be happy with Him forever.
