estyn.llyw.cymru estyn.gov.wales Deilliannau Arolygu 2015-2016 Inspection Outcomes 2015-2016 Wellbeing is good or better in three-quarters of secondary schools and two thirds of primary schools. Mae lles yn dda neu n well mewn tri chwarter o ysgolion uwchradd, a dwy o bob tair ysgol gynradd. The improvement in secondary schools in particular is the result of the continuing improvement in attendance rates, particularly for pupils eligible for free school meals. Mae r gwelliant mewn ysgolion uwchradd wedi digwydd yn arbennig o ganlyniad i r gwelliant parhaus mewn cyfraddau presenoldeb, yn enwedig ar gyfer disgyblion sy n gymwys i gael prydau ysgol am ddim. An important factor in securing high standards of pupil wellbeing is the extent to which pupils are involved in taking responsibility and participating in decision making. Where pupil voice is valued and pupils given positions of influence it has an extremely positive impact on their wellbeing and performance. In many schools, pupils understand how to eat healthily and appreciate the positive value of exercise. Most schools make extensive arrangements to encourage pupils to exercise and eat healthily. Mae r rhan fwyaf o ysgolion yn gwneud trefniadau helaeth i annog disgyblion i wneud ymarfer corff a bwyta n iach. The Healthy Eating and Drinking Measure has significantly improved the provision of food and drink in schools. Many pupils behave well, are punctual and have positive attitudes to their learning. In many schools, there are useful systems to promote good behaviour. This has led to improved behaviour in these schools. Mewn llawer o ysgolion, ceir systemau defnyddiol i hyrwyddo ymddygiad da. Mae hyn wedi arwain at ymddygiad gwell yn yr ysgolion hyn. In a few schools, the implementation of strategies and arrangements to improve behaviour are not applied consistently and disruptive behaviour is not challenged effectively. In many schools, attendance is improving and rates of persistent absence continue to fall, with most pupils attending well and understanding the importance of regular attendance. Mae llawer o ysgolion yn gweithio n effeithiol gydag asiantaethau allanol fel y Rhwydwaith Ysgolion Iach a Chwaraeon Cymru i hyrwyddo ffyrdd iach o fyw. Many schools work well with outside agencies such as CAMHS in support of pupils with personal issues.
