You May Know Confidence on Judgement Day 1 John 5:13-15
The Judgment Matt 25:31-46 41 Then He will also say to those on His left, Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels; 42 for I was hungry, and you gave Me nothing to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me nothing to 31 But when the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on His glorious throne. 32 All the nations will be gathered before Him; and He will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats; 33 and He will put the sheep on His right, and the goats on the left. drink; 43 I was a stranger, and you did not invite Me in; naked, and you did not clothe Me; sick, and in prison, and you did not visit Me. 44 Then they themselves also will answer, Lord, when did we see You hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not [e]take care of You? 45 Then He will answer them, Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me. 46 These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life. 34 Then the King will say to those on His right, Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. 35 For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; 36 naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me. 37 Then the righteous will answer Him, Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink? 38 And when did we see You a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You? 39 When did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You? 40 The King will answer and say to them, Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.
We May Know 1 John 5:13-15 13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life. 14 This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15 And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him.
We May Know Matt 7:21-23 21 Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. 22 Many will say to Me on that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many [n]miracles? 23 And then I will declare to them, I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.
We May Know 1 John 5:13-14 13: You May Know - Eido (Strong s G1492) To see or to know (knowledge, understand, definite meaning) / used well over 600 times in the KJV) Matt 9:6 You may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins (Jesus healing the paralytic) Mark 10:19 You know the commandments (Jesus & Rich young Ruler) Matt 22:29 You are mistaken, since you do not understand the Scriptures nor the power of God (Jesus 7 brother marriage question)
We May Know 1 John 5:13-14 14: Confidence - Parresia (Strong s G3954) Assurance, Boldness, Confidence, (31 times in scripture) Acts 4:13 they observed the confidence of Peter and John (before the High priest and council) Acts 4:19-20 This confidence cannot be stopped by any threat (Conviction) Acts 4:29-31 Spoke Your word with all confidence (Boldness) Parresia Also translated to Plainly (nothing figurative to it)
Believers will know they have eternal life 1 Keep His Commandments 1 John 2:3-5, 17 Phil 1:20 according to my eager expectation and hope, that I will not be put to shame in anything, but that with all boldness, Christ will even now, as always, be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death. (Christ lives in me!) 1 John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments; and His commandments are not burdensome. 3 By this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments. 4 The one who says, I have come to know Him, and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him; 5 but whoever follows His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him: 17 The world is passing away and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God continues to live forever. Matt 7:24-27 Wise Man / Foolish Man (Hears & Acts)
Believers will know they have eternal life 1 Keep His Commandments 1 John 2:3-5, 17 2 Abide in Him 1 John 2:25-28 This is the promise which He Himself made to us: eternal life. 26 These things I have written to you concerning those who are trying to deceive you. 27 And as for you, the anointing which you received from Him remains in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you remain in Him. 28 Now, little children, remain in Him, so that when He appears, we may have confidence and not draw back from Him in shame at His coming. Rev 2:10 Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, so that you will be tested, and you will have tribulation for ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life. We can never be good enough! (Eph 2:8-10 / 2 Tim 1:8-12)
Believers will know they have eternal life 1 Keep His Commandments 1 John 2:3-5, 17 2 Abide in Him 1 John 2:25-28 2 Cor 3:4-6 4 Such is the confidence we have toward God through Christ. 5 Not that we are adequate in ourselves so as to consider anything as having come from ourselves, but our adequacy is from God, 6 who also made us adequate as servants of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
Believers will know they have eternal life 1 Keep His Commandments 1 John 2:3-5, 17 2 3 Abide in Him 1 John 2:25-28 Love (of God) 1 John 3:14, 4:9-10, 4:14-17 1 John 4:14-17 14 We have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son to be the Savior of the world. 15 Whoever confesses that Jesus 1 John 4:9-10 9 By this the love of God was revealed in us, that God has sent His only Son into the world so that we may live is the Son of God, God remains in him, and he in God. 16 We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who remains in love remains in God, and God 1 John 3:14 14 We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brothers and sisters. The one who does not love remains in death. through Him. 10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. remains in him. 17 By this, love is perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment; because as He is, we also are in this world.
Our Confidence is In Christ Alone v1: My Hope is Found / v4: No Guilt in Life, No Fear in Death Acts 4:12 12 And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among mankind by which we must be saved. Ephesians 3:11-12 11 This was in accordance with the eternal purpose which He carried out in Christ Jesus our Lord, 12 in whom we have boldness and confident access through faith in Him.
We May Know Because of Jesus Christ Hebrews 10:19-23 19 Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the holy place by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way which He inaugurated for us through the veil, that is, through His flesh, 21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God, 22 let s approach God 1 John 1:7-9 7 but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin. 8 If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous, so that He will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace for help at the time of our need. with pure water. 23 Let s hold firmly to the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful; Hebrews 4:14-16 14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let s hold firmly to our confession. 15 For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things just as we are, yet without sin. 16 Therefore let s approach the throne of grace with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed
Those in Christ have a Blessed Assurance! God > Our Heart 1 John 3:19-21 19 We will know by this that we are of the truth, and will set our heart at ease before Him, 20 that if our heart condemns us, that God is greater than our heart, and He knows all things. 21 Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before God; Romans 8:1-4 No Condemnation for those in Christ!
Those in Christ may know they have eternal life 1 John 5:13 - These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.
