Lesson 2: Multisyllabic Words There are words that seem complicated because they are a bit long. Good thing I was able to analyze words before. What can I do with this to effectively understand these multisyllabic words?
Lesson 2: Multisyllabic Words Multisyllabic words are words that have more than one (usually three or more) syllables. These words are typically intimidating because of their length and how they are pronounced. However, just like other words, they can be understood through analyzing them. Their elements such as the affixes can help in doing so. You may refer to your list of prefixes and suffixes to effectively find out the meanings of multisyllabic words. Example: The people s patriotism helps them put their hands together for the country. patriot-person who vigorously supports their country and is prepared to defend it against enemies or detractors. -ism-theory, act, or belief Therefore, patriotism can be understood as an act of supporting your country and defending it against enemies or detractors.
