Plastic pollution By Ellen Toner
Causes Plastic pollution is caused by trash just lying everywhere. It is also caused when people only buy plastic that can t be reused. Plastic pollution is also caused because plastic can t be recycled, it never rots away. When people want to get rid of plastic they burn it which creates toxins in the air which if we breath in it can be very harmful. When plastic is dumped in landfills it just stays there and then can be harmful to wildlife.
Effects One of the effects from plastic pollution is it can upset the food chain for humans and animals. Plastic pollution also effects us by when plastic is burned it realeases poisonous chemicals that is very dangerous. When plastic is thrown into the seas it is found by animals as they think it is food and it poisons them. Another effect is it is very expensive to clean up places with lots of rubbish and then if we don t clean it up we lose tourists.
Solutions A solution for plastic pollution is when you go to the shops shop friendly and don t buy plastic bags. Always use a water bottle and not bottled water. Always make sure if you buy plastic make sure it s can be reused many times. Always make sure to recycle your non plastic items and try not to by plastic.
