  1. Question tags are short questions used at the end of a sentence. They are used when asking for confirmation ( ) or agreement ( ). There are two forms: Positive sentences ( ) Negative question tags Example: My son is naughty, isn t he? Negative sentences ( ) Positive question tags Example: You aren t a lawyer, are you?   3. Im not ready, am I? John wasn t excited, was he? They weren t explorers, were they? We don t speak Italian, do we? Andy didn t go to the party, did he? She hasn t got curly hair, has she? You hadn t brushed your teeth before then, had you? Sarah won t fail the exam, will she? Jenny can t play rugby, can she? Bob couldn t go out, could he? Simon mustn t touch that, must he?   4. PAY ATTENTION! PAY ATTENTION! When seldom negative, so we have a positive question tag. Examples: Nothing is done, Nobody When there are seldom in a sentence, then the sentence is treated as negative, so we have a positive question tag. Examples: Nothing is done, is it? Nobody did their homework, there are never, neither, no, none, in a sentence, then the sentence is treated as never, neither, no, none, nothing,hardly nothing,hardly, , is it? did their homework, did they? did they? Exceptions Positive imperative - Stop daydreaming, Negative imperative - - Don't stop singing, Let's - Let's go to the beach, There is /are Exceptions Positive imperative Negative imperative Let's There Stop daydreaming, will / won't Don't stop singing, will Let's go to the beach, shall is /are- - There aren't any spiders in the bedroom, will / won't you? will you? you? you? shall we? we?
