Your contribution matters. Group Chairs and Vice-Chairs Fellows Program Contribute Substantively and Administratively Ten fellows for two-year terms. Communicate Coordinate Planning Practiced for less then 10 years or are under the age of 35, or both! They are intentionally assigned to a Group/Committee. Committee Chairs and Vice-Chairs Welcome your assigned fellow. Ensure they have work assignments, including writing and speaking engagements. Communicate Contribute Substantively Support Group Planning

RPTE Org Chart RPTE Directory + MORE Communicate Email (listservs) Scheduled monthly/quarterly calls Communities Posts Plan Group s Year Schedule calls for the group s: Administrative calls (usually quarterly) typically group/committee leaders Substantive calls (monthly) - Committees rotate the responsibility to present on substantive topics Substantive Contributions Submit Business Plan to applicable TE/RP Division Vice-Chairs. For Joint Practice Groups contact RPTE Staff. CLE and Publication Proposals CLEs: Live CLE or eCLE Publications: Probate & Property or e-Report Governmental submission Promote DEI review the ABA s DEI Plan and appoint a liaison to RPTE s DEI Committee Don t hesitate to delegate - Be clear on follow through needed/expected Actively Support Succession Planning Get to know members in the Group Identify those willing to help Be clear on follow through needed/expected

Committee Leader: Role as Contributor, Communicator, and Supporter for Committee Leader: Role as Contributor, Communicator, and Supporter for Succession Planning Succession Planning Communicate Email (listservs) Participate in scheduled monthly/quarterly calls Make announcements through posts on Communities Engage in Activities throughout the Group s Year Attend and participate in the Group s calls: Administrative calls (usually quarterly) typically Group and Committee leaders Substantive calls (usually monthly) typically Committees rotate the responsibility to present on a substantive topic to the Group (and beyond). Make Substantive Contributions Contribute to your Group s Business Plan Committees work with Group leaders to put together CLE and Publication Proposals CLEs: Live CLE or eCLE Publications: Probate & Property or e-Report Governmental submission Actively promote DEI Don t hesitate to delegate to Committee members - Be clear on follow through needed/expected Actively Support Succession Planning Get to know members in the Group and your Committee Identify those willing to help Be clear on follow through needed/expected

  5. Road Map: Your Groups Business Plan Road Map: Your Group s Business Plan What is the Business Plan? Helps create a framework and time-line for the Group to organize their work for the year. What is the due date? October 18, 2024. What does it cover? Group Calls: Discuss current developments, interesting topics, commenting project, or just a meet and greet. National CLE Conference Programming: Each Group is expected to produce a 60-90 minute program for the National Conference. eCLE Proposals: There are webinars presented throughout the year. Contact the CLE Committee with topic proposals. Writing Projects: RPTE publishes books, a bi-monthly magazine, Probate & Property; a scholarly journal (3 issues per year), Real Property, Trust, and Estate Law Journal; and a quarterly electronic newsletter, eReport Collaboration: Include any opportunities to collaborate with other ABA or RPTE groups and Committees. Government Submissions: Include information on whether your Group or one of its Committees will be preparing comments on proposed regulations or legislation. Member and Leadership Development: Each Group should have a plan for engaging its members, identifying those interested in leadership positions. Identify how your Group will work with the Young Lawyers Fellows.

Upcoming Trainings You should attend: Group Leaders Training scheduled for September 20th at 1:00 pm eastern online Committee Leaders Training scheduled for September 27th at 1:00 pm eastern online Monica Larys has sent out calendar invitations. Upcoming Leadership Meetings Confirm reimbursement policy before booking: SCMs will be expected to report on their Group s activities at the in-person Section Council meetings taking place during: Fall Leadership Meeting November 14-16, 2024 @ The Ritz Carlton Maui, Kapalua, Hawaii National CLE Conference and Spring Leadership Meeting April 30-May 2, 2025 @ Aria Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada Council and Sub-Council Meetings Everyone is welcome to attend! SCMs report at in-person Council meetings. Group Chairs and Vice-Chairs provide updates on their Group at the quarterly RP/TE Sub-Council Meetings over Zoom (September. January, April and August).
