  1. The Samples Lecture Ten By Asst. lecturer. Tariq Ali Obeid College of alsafwa 2022

  2. The Sample -Is a representative group that is chosen from among the members of the original community. **For example, the sample can be chosen from among students at all levels of study. The sample can be chosen from students of a university and at the level of one of the university departments.

  3. Steps for selecting a sample To choose a sample, the researcher takes the following steps: 1-Determine the sample unit. 2-Renew the frame from which the sample is taken. 3-Specify the sample. 4-Determine the sample selection method.

  4. Sources of error in selecting the sample The results of the research through the sample may be exposed to two types of errors: 1-the chance error: It arises from the differences between the members of the sample and the members of the community as a whole.

  5. 2-the bias error: The reason for this is: *not taking into account the principle of random selection. *inaccuracy in the framework and its adequacy. *not obtaining data from some of the study items.

  6. Sample conditions -In order for the sample to be scientific, it must be representative of the original community through a reasonable percentage commensurate with the size of the community. -Parts of the sample should not be taken from the vocabulary of other communities, even if they are close to the original community on which the study is located.

  7. Types of samples 1-Simple random sample. 2-Regular sample. 3-Stratified sample. 4-Survey sample. 5-The sample selected by quota method. 6-Intentional sample.
