Summit Academy Bluffdale Annual Title I Meeting School Presentation with Required Topics
What is Title I? Passed in 1965 under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA). It is the largest federal assistance program for our nation s schools. These supplemental funds provide students the opportunity to receive a fair, equitable, and high- quality education, and help to close educational achievement gaps. Participation in Title I
How does Summit Academy Bluffdale use Title I funds? Targeted Assistance program; funds go to help those most at risk academically For2022-2023, Summit Academy has chosen to focus Title I funds on reading skills in grades 1-3. Most of our funding goes to staffing 0ur Reading Interventionist. Participation in Title I
2nd Grade Acadience Reading 21-22 Data BOY to EOY Participation in Title I The interventionist that gets paid with Title 1 funds works with Kindergarten through 3rd grade students that are well below benchmark.
Family Engagement is vital Annual Title I Meeting School-Family Compact Parent & Family Engagement Policy Requirements of Title I
Parent and Family Engagement Policy Outlines how Summit Academy will : Include parents in decision making; Provide information and training to parents; and Build the capacity of parents and staff for strong family engagement. Requirements of Title I Posted on Summit Academy s website. Click on Resources . Then click Policies and Procedures.
Parents and family members have the right to: Be involved in decisions made at the school and district level; Be provided with information on your child s level of achievement on tests in reading, math, and science; Request information on the qualifications of your child s teacher and paraprofessionals who are working with your child; and Request opportunities for regular meetings to participate, as appropriate, in decisions about the education of your child. How can I be involved at Summit Academy? We need you! Research shows family engagement has a huge impact on student achievement. To get involved with your child s classroom, contact the teacher. Provide input on the Family Engagement Policy, School-Parent Compact, and engagement activities. Annual Board Parent Survey Follow the Summit Academy and SPO social media sites.
