SATAN IS A FISHER OF MEN Temptations are his Lures!
TEMPTATION IS A LURE Sin appears desirable (James 1:14-16) Some allurements may seem more attractive than others, but they are all effective (Proverbs 7:21; 1:10; Exodus 23:2; 1 Timothy 6:9; James 4:1)
SIN HOOKS US It is like a trap or snare (Proverbs 29:6; 5:22) The Devil is the fisherman (1 Timothy 3:7; 2 Timothy 2:24-26) If he catches us, we ll wind up in the frying pan (Revelation 20:15)
ITS BEST TO AVOID THE LURE By respecting and desiring God (Proverbs 14:27; Psalm 27:4) By following His word (Ps. 119:133) By praying in faith (Matthew 6:13) By staying far from the temptation (Proverbs 22:5; 2 Timothy 2:22) By making a conscious choice (Hebrews 11:25)
If Hooked, SPIT IT OUT! Seek God s help (1 Corinthians 10:13; Psalm 124:7-8) Confess and forsake the sin (Proverbs 28:13; Psalm 51:2-3) Understand that God s grace deserves our best effort to stop sinning (1 John 1:7-9; 3:4-10; Romans 6:12-14)
