Explore the key components of a plant cell such as the cell wall, cell membrane, ribosome, cytoplasm, chloroplast, lysosome, Golgi complex, endoplasmic reticulum, nucleus, mitochondria, and vacuole through visual comparisons with everyday objects. Learn how each part contributes to the functionality of the cell in this educational presentation by Ms. Flores.

  1. The Plant Cell By: Ms. Flores

  2. Cell Wall The cell wall is like the cardboard box because the cell wall is rigid and keeps the shape of the cell just like a shoebox keeps a rigid protective case for shoes.

  3. Cell Membrane The cell membrane is like the tin foil because the tinfoil protects food just like the cell membrane protects the cell and the organelles.

  4. Ribosome The ribosomes are like the small beads because the small beads are small and the ribosomes are the smallest part of the cell.

  5. Cytoplasm The cytoplasm is like the red clay because the cytoplasm is liquid and holds all the organelles just like the red clay holds all materials in the model.

  6. Chloroplast The chloroplast is like the yellow cap because like chloroplast uses the sunlight to make the food for the plant cell and the cap is yellow like the sun.

  7. Lysosome The lysosome is like the water bottle because the water stores substances just like the lysosome stores digestive enzymes

  8. Golgi Complex

  9. Endoplasmic reticulum

  10. Nucleus Control Center

  11. Mitochondria

  12. Vacuole
