NT Promise is Primarily Spiritual A Blessing Acts 3:25-26 Christ blesses us by turning us from our wicked ways. Gal 3:8-9 preaching gospel to the nations Gal 3:13-14 Nations receiving the Holy Spirit Preaching the good news of salvation to the world
In the light of Matthew 28:19-20 We are to live in our Judea , reaching out as a witness to all other nations, discipling them regarding correct living and the greatness of the God we serve.
Implications The Missions mandate is not a side show in God s program. It is at the very heart of His dealings with His creation. The Christian that wants to be about what God is about must include a focus on the world-wide task.
Implications Israel could not experience the full benefit of its relationship with God unless they were obedient to God s stated program regarding the other nations. We will not experience the full benefit of our relationship with God unless we are obedient to the call to the world-wide missionary mandate.
Implications This will involve purposive going, and/or sending & supporting those whom God is sending. This will involve the display of a purposive contrast to the prevailing social expectations, e.g., Lausanne 80 call to a simple life-style for the sake of gospel outreach
Applications Witness, Disciple, Pray, Go, Send, Support, Visit, Write, Advocate, Learn, Adapt, Entertain, House, Seek internationals, Stay informed
Applications Not every Christian is called to preach the Gospel in a foreign context. But every Christian is called to sacrifice to have a part of fulfilling the promise given to Abraham in obedience to the command of Christ.
