Role of Teacher According to Harmer, the teacher can have the following roles Educator Role Model Care giver Controller Assessor Organiser Promoter Participant Resource Tutor Observer
Develops self-confidence in students Encourages students, never criticizes Inspires the students Impartial to all students. Promotes all-round development of students. Imparts moral values and values of Life Prepares himself/herself for each class hour. Incorporates good communication skills and discipline Takes the responsibilities as a teacher and guide. Develops good interpersonal relationships. Develops patriotism
Profession Profession is a vocation, founded upon specialize educational training, the purpose of which is to supply disinterested objective, counselling and service to others
Qualities of a Good Teaching Good Teaching includes the provision of desirable information. Causing Learning Needs efficient planning Selective Provides opportunities for activities Sympathetic Co-operative Organisation of Learning Democratic progressive Leads to emotional stability Help the child to adjust himself to his environment Means preparation Diagnostic and remedial
