  2. Primary Source White supremacy, beliefs, and ideas purport the natural superiority of the lighter- skinned, or "white," human races over other racial groups In contemporary usage, the term white supremacist has been used to describe some groups espousing ultranationalist, racist, or fascist doctrines. White supremacist groups often have relied on violence to achieve their goals.

  3. The oldest organized white supremacist group in the United States is the Ku Klux Klan (KKK). It was created by several Confederate veterans, headed by Nathan Bedford Forrest, in 1866. Its name comes from the Greek word kuklos, meaning circle he oldest organized white supremacist group in the United States. The original Klan members engaged in acts of terrorism that meant to keep the newly freed slaves from claiming their rightful places in society. The group's white costumes and pointed white masks were intended to hide the identities of the Klan members while simultaneously provoking more fear in their victims. However, within a few years, the original Klan was disbanded because of internal strife.

  4. I chose to study white supremacy from a white person perspective to better understand racism and fascism in the USA. The findings from the source, which is my primary, support my secondary resource because they address the rise of white supremacy.
