  1. FRIDAY 12THJUNE 2020 WALT: WRITE AN ALTERNATIVE ENDING TO THE STORY I CAN WRITE AN ENDING TO A STORY I CAN USE DRAMATIC SENTENCE OPENERS

  2. ALTERNATIVE ENDING At the end of the story Shane finally get the cat back to his home in the back of an alley, and as promised gives the cat some milk. What could happen after? Does the cat not want to stay there? Maybe the cat already has a home of its own? Does someone else find them and look after both of them?

  3. TYPES OF ENDING There are different types of ending you can use for your story. A Conclusive ending when you conclude what the final ending is. But is it a happy or a sad conclusive ending you want to write? A cliff-hanger ending, like in a film do you want to leave the story open for the reader to wonder what happens? Remember that doesn t mean just stop writing you need to give the reader some clues to what might happen. A reflective ending, this is where one of the character looks back and reflects on what has happened.

  4. MODEL Finally, we returned to my home. I know it is not much but it is safe, and me and my new best friend would be safe here. In the distance I could hear someone calling, I couldn t make out what they were saying at first but as they got closer I heard them shouting Tiger, Tiger, where are you! it was then I realised the cats ears had perked up. Then without warning, he scrambled out into the alley. There you are! a voice said firmly. As quick as flash, I exited my shelter and I picked up the cat and yelled leave us alone he is my best friend! She looked me up and down, paying close attention to my torn clothes. At first I was scared, I didn t know if this person was friend or foe but as I looked into this lady s eyes I could see a warmness that I hadn t felt in a long time. The cat leaped from my arms and run to the lady, purring and crawling at her legs. It was at that moment, I realised that it must have been the cat s real owner and that luckily it was someone that cared for him very deeply. I would be sad to let him go but I knew it was the right thing to do. I sheepishly turned round and head back to my shelter. Excuse me. her soft voice said. Thank you for finding my little cat, I had been worried sick. Don t worry, I m glad you found him. I replied. Is this where you live? Where is your family? she enquired. I have no family, this is my home this is where I feel safe. I answered. This is no place for a child. Why don t you come home with us? I have food and shelter and Tiger seems to really like you she said politely. I turned my head and looked at her in deep thought and replied .

  5. SENTENCE STARTERS Suddenly, I couldn t believe my eyes, In conclusion, Without warning, Out of the blue,
