Good Morning Unicorns! Here s your work for today: Tuesday 31stMarch
Reading Comprehension Today you are going to read a text and then answer questions about it.
First read the text Anansi and the Turtle on page 11 in your CGP Reading workbook.
Now take a look at the questions R Remember to be detectives- the answers will be hidden somewhere in the text.
Please complete the questions on pages 12-16 of your CGP Reading workbook.
Grammar Today you will be focussing on: Doing Words ( Verbs) Remember, nouns are the names of things. Watch this link to recap: Verbs
Grammar Please complete pages 6 and 7 in your Nelson Grammar workbook.
Maths answers from yesterday: Page 20 1. 2. The first and third pizza You will have made a rectangle that is 6 squares across and 2 squares down Four marbles should have been circled 8 stamps 3. 4. Challenge 1 a): Half of 10 apples is 5 apples. b): Half of 12 apples is 6 apples. c): Half of 10 carrots is 5 carrots. Challenge 2 a): 1/2 of 12 = 6. b): 1/2 of 16 = 8.
Maths Today we are going to learn about thirds.

Now I would like you to have a go at completing work in your CGP Maths Reasoning workbook. If you would like to try Gruffalo work, complete page 21. If you would like to try Horrid Henry work, complete page 21 and questions 1 - 4 from the End of Unit Check on the next slide. If you would like to try James and the Giant Peach work, complete page 21 and both slides from the End of Unit Check.
English Today you are going to write your instructions for your perfect day. Do you remember when we wrote instructions for our own revolting recipe? There is an example based on these on the next slide.
If you look carefully, you will see that there is: A title and introduction. A you will need list with quantities (how much). All of the instructions are numbered. There are imperative verbs ( pour, mix, stir) There are adverbs telling you how to do things ( gradually, carefully)
Make sure that you include all of these things in your instructions. Examples of imperative verbs: Mix Stir Chop Break Pour Sprinkle
Examples of adverbs: carefully sensibly cautiously softly gently quickly thoroughly Now read through your work and check for capital letters and full stops.
Music Create a music playlist for a friend/family member. Decide if you need to make them happy, relax them, send them a message, remind them of you or an event. Share it with them if you can and explain why you have chosen the music for them.
