Sales & Onboarding One of the most important functions at the bank is the ability for customers to apply for U.S. Bank products. Historically, most product applications were performed in a U.S. Bank branch with banker assistance. In today's increasingly-digital world, most product applications are completed using U.S. Bank digital channels. Often the only interaction a customer has with our brand is through our online presence
Problem Statement Historically, the bank operated in Silos with each department creating application technology for their specific customers. This resulted in the development of over 10 different application platforms Issues: Operational Inefficiency - Each platform needs to be constantly managed and enhanced to meet the growing needs of our customers. Solution: Cloud Apply Cloud Apply is an application platform which was created to become the single solution for application technology across the bank. Goals: Create ONE application platform which can support all products and channels Build using a modular, re-usable architecture Reduce time/cost to onboard new products Sunset legacy platforms Build common features on the platform and scale across products & channels (SaaS model)
Cloud Apply Modular Design Cloud Apply offers a unified application experience across U.S. Bank products. This is achieved by creating standardized Micro-flows which are sub-components of the application flow built once and re-used across products. Micro-Flow Example: This Let s get Started Micro-flow was created to capture customer information All products which need a customer s info during the application process will re-use this Let s get started micro-flow This allows us to build a single component and reuse it across products The Cloud Apply Platform is essentially a library of Micro-flows which can be stitched together to create an application flow for any product Benefits to this architecture Re-usability Reduced time/cost to onboard new products Less maintenance/management of multiple application platforms Unified application experience which looks similar across products
