Las Fallas de Valencia When? Las Fallas Is officially celebrated from March 15th to 19th but, events begin to happen on the last Sunday of February. It can even go into the morning of March 20th . What are the origins and purpose of Las Fallas? Why is it celebrated? The purpose of Las Fallas is to celebrate and welcome the coming of spring.
What are the Activities Related to Las Fallas? During Las Fallas they have fireworks, live music, and people wear traditional clothes. The most exciting part of this event is when the massive sculptures/ monuments made from wood, cork, and papier mache are burnt down to ashes right in the streets.
Other Information What Food is Eaten during Las Fallas? They typically eat: Rice dishes, churros, chocolate, and pumpkin bu uelos which are basically a pumpkin flavoured donut. What do the massive monuments represent? Usually they represent a political matter that is happening or a public argument.
When, What and Where? When? The festival starts on July 6th at noon, and ends on July 14th at midnight. What? The purpose of the Saint Fermin Festival is to honour the first bishop/patron of Pamplona who was Saint Fermin. Where? Pamplona, Spain.
What activities do they do? The main event of this festival is running through the streets from the many bulls that chase the participants. The participants wear white pants and a white shirt and they also wear a red scarf.
What food is special to this Festival? The most traditional food that is eaten are fried eggs with tomato sauce and either sausage or bacon.
