Who We Are Who We Are Small High School (363) inside Santa Ana College 90-95 students are accepted into 9th grade Each student is dual enrolled (SAC & MCHS) Mission is for each student to graduate with at least 30 units (1 year)college credit completed and attend a 4 year university. Graduation Rate: 100% for 14 years AA Degrees- 81% earned at least 1 degree Over 90% of seniors were accepted to a 4 year College

  3. The Middle College The Middle College Difference Difference We offer small class sizes in all subjects. Our staff knows our students individually. We have both a full-time high School and 1 part-time SAC (College) counselor on staff. Students are college bound and have privileges and Access to various SAC services & resources. Including college tutoring. All students are expected to complete at least 30 units (1 year) of college credit and can earn 60 or more college units (2 year AA Degree) by high school graduation. College tuition and college textbooks are paid by the state and school district.

  4. The Middle College The Middle College Difference Difference Our school calendar generally matches the college and may differ from SAUSD s dates. Students have flexible scheduling and may have seminar periods throughout the day. Students are Dual Enrolled in SAUSD and Santa Ana College. Every student creates a personalized Education Plan. All students take AVID. Must behave responsibly in college classes on Santa Ana College Campus. Breaking of Santa Ana College regulations may result in removal from Middle College.

Drama Sector: Engineering & Design Pathway: Engineering Technology MCHS Elective: Robotics by Design/Motion by Design (CTE) Sector: Public Services Pathway: Legal & Government Services MCHS Elective: Speech & Debate Sector: Health Science & Medical Technology Pathway: Patient Care Santa Ana College Elective: Medical Assistant classes (SAC)

Extracurricular Dances: We have several dances throughout the year including Homecoming/Halloween, Sadie s, Winter Formal, and Prom Assemblies: We have several academic and spirit assemblies throughout the year. At lunch we ASB performs and has activities Sports: We do not have competitve CIF sports. We have intermural flag football, basketball, and soccer seasons. We compete in a one-day tournament against the other two alternative schools for each sport once a year. Clubs and Organizations: We have 15 student-led clubs including Make a Difference, Ladies First, ECO, HEAL, Robotics, Dance, Cheer, One-Note, and E-sports Team. Professional Collaborations/Partnerships: UCI Medical Center, UCI School of Law, College Bound (Boys & Girls Club), Nicolas Academic Center (NAC), and Santa Ana College. Field-Trips and Guest Speakers: Every grade level takes field trips each year to colleges and universities, career exploration events, and museums. We also have school-wide inspirational speakers and college representives visitors.

  8. MCHS Requirements MCHS Requirements All students must: Attend school, on time, every day - both MCHS and SAC classes. Be prepared to study for and complete all high school and college coursework daily. Pass all classes with C or better (2.0 minimum GPA). Register for and take college entrance exams Submit college applications Be prepared to remain after school for additional support and instruction, if needed. (Mandatory Tutoring for any student with a grade below C). Possible Summer school: June 14, 2021 - July 16, 2021 MCHS & SAC

  9. Campus Security Campus Security MCHS is a closed campus this means that the students do not have permission to leave the campus for any reason during the school day. MCHS has two activity supervisors who monitor the MCHS Village area. MCHS and SAC Security work together to ensure student safety. Every student has access to emergency services through the LiveSafe app. The students need to carry their MCHS and SAC identification cards with them at all times. Students must check in with office before and after college classes. Students are to remain in approved areas on campus. Middle College students are not to interact or socialize with adult SAC students outside of their classes.

  10. Parents Involvement Parents Involvement All Parents are REQUIRED to attend the yearly grade level parent meeting! In addition, parents should: Help their child at home by providing an appropriate homework space. Make sure the student is here everyday on time. Utilize the Aries Parent Portal to monitor grades. Utilize Parent Square to contact school, teachers, or principal Attend Back to School Night (August) and Open House (March). Pick up your child promptly after school, tutoring, or college classes. Volunteer in activities such as PTSA, School Site Council, chaperone for dances, field trips and other events.

Lottery Group B: Out of District attendance area. Will have to submit a permit request. Lottery Dates Lottery Dates January 11th January 22th Accepting Lottery Applications online through our website January 29th Lottery Acceptance Posted on school website February 13th- Registration Packet must be completed using Permission Click Students who were not selected in the lottery will be placed on a lottery waitlist for 1 year. This process is only for 9th graders in 2021-2022
