  2. ADDITIVE INVERSE A.K.A. ADDITIVE IDENTITY The opposite of a number

  3. MULTIPLICATIVE INVERSE the reciprocal of a number. A reciprocal is one of a pair of numbers that when multiplied with another number equals the number 1.

  4. ABSOLUTE VALUE the magnitude of a real number without regard to its sign. Hint: remove any negative sign in front of a number, and to think of all numbers as positive

  5. INTEGERS

  6. LONG DIVISION a way to solve division problems with large numbers

  7. RATIONAL NUMBERS

  8. NATURAL NUMBERS the positive integers (whole numbers) 1, 2, 3, etc., and sometimes zero as well.

  9. NEGATIVE NUMBERS number that is less than zero.

  10. OPPOSITE NUMBERS the number on the opposite side of zero on the number line.

  11. POSITIVE NUMBERS A number that is bigger than zero.

  12. REPEATING DECIMALS a decimal fraction in which a figure or group of figures is repeated indefinitely.

  13. TERMINATING DECIMAL

  14. ZERO PAIR a pair of numbers whose sum is zero.
