  3. Goals To help university to become a top 5 universities To acquire more funding in collaboration with Student support services and Information Technology Services

Weakness Strength inflexible space Strong faculty limited collaboration with other university libraries Long history little interest in working together with other partners on campus Rich collection Staff well-trained and loyal to the library no incentives from the university for interdepartmental collaborations All five universities are providing similar range of services from acquisition to cataloguing Faculty and researchers also not interested to work in a group SWOT Threats Opportunities Reduced funding Arrival of a new Vice-Chancellor Reduced purchasing power Special funding is available to invest in the university Rumoured that UAL considered itself to be self sufficient and preferred to be left alone Vice-Chancellor and President Professor is a library lover Misconception about the university ranking

Proposal Library Collaboration with Students Support Service (SSS) will develop Students Information Service Center providing following services Student library and campus orientation programs Information literacy programmes Bank loan information Career counseling Placement services Academic advice Campus information Student counseling Biblio-theraphy sessions

  7. Information Technology Services (ITS) In collaboration with ITS, library will develop Virtual library Digital library Institutional Repository (IR) Virtual Reference Desk Develop e-learning courses for students and faculty

  8. Funding for High end computational facilities Specially trained staff Training for staff and students about the use all services created Maintenance cost Collection of material for IR Need expertise in programming and installation of software tools and To train the staff and students

  9. Why proposal is the best? It will increase the collaboration among the faculty members of two important departments It will further give an opportunity to work with faculty and students of other departments in building up databases It will enhance the research and learning and thereby the ranking of the university To increase the popularity of the library services Increase the efficiency of three departments
