  1. University Promotion and Tenure Committee Responsibilities The P & T Committee shall consider all recommendations for persons seeking to be awarded faculty tenure and/or promotion at Florida Atlantic University and advise the University Provost accordingly. It shall recommend to the UFS general policies, procedures and criteria affecting the promotion and tenure process. Meeting Schedule The committee meets as often as necessary to complete its business as needed

  2. UPT Election Process The P & T Committee shall consist of a tenured faculty member from each college. The method of selection of the college members shall be determined by the individual colleges. The Committee shall elect its chair from among the college members.

UPT Major Activities 2022-2023 worked with provost on revising UPT documents reviewed all promotion and tenure applications from all colleges conducted University Open Forum on P&T process assisted in reviewing College P&T documents and recommended that all colleges update Attended faculty senate meetings and faculty senate steering committee meetings regarding new UPT documents Other activities provided feedback to Provost on any potential P&T documents and CBA provided feedback on promotion andappraisal criteria for HBOI non tenure track research faculty conduct presentations and workshops for college/schools/departments upon request conduct presentations to Deans and Directors
